Brooklyn Mirage is actually looking a lot better these days. When I last paid a visit to the Bushwick music venue in early May, just days after it was supposed to open, loose debris was strewn across Stewart Avenue. The area I recognized as the ticket line was an active construction site occupied by heavy machinery.
But on Thursday night, things looked a little more normal. There were some piles of wooden pallets, sure, but walking by, you'd think, hey, that's a music venue, albeit maybe not one that just got $30 million in renovations. The security guards cheerfully told me they expect it to be open… "in two months? I'm not sure."
