It's a 'Sangwiches' Summer at Rockaway's Panino Bozza

Punk rock Jersey kid Jus Bozza is slinging some spectacularly meaty beasts at Beach 97.

Jus Bozza has lived in Rockaway for about five years now, playing in punk bands like Guácala—a Mexican exclamation meaning, essentially, "that's gross," because as he told Hell Gate "we're disgusted with the current political system and state of affairs"—and generally embracing the beach community with his partner, the artist and choreographer m i c c a, whom he met when they were on neighboring house boats at Marina 59.

But the part of Bozza's heart that's devoted to sandwiches, his core sandwich values, if you will, remains forever with his childhood in North Jersey, where his family, Sicilian and Italian on both sides, have resided for more than a century. And during the summer of 2023, he started lamenting to his partner about the sad state of sandwich affairs in his new home.
